Tempering of glass is to heat the glass to close to the softening temperature, and then to carry out uniform and rapid cooling. The outside of the glass shrinks due to rapid cooling, causing compressive stress on the surface of the glass and tensile stress inside. To destroy the tempered glass, it is necessary to offset this partial pressure stress, so that the mechanical strength and thermal stability of the glass are improved, and has a special state of fragments.
Homogeneous (hot dip) tempered glass, that is, the tempered glass is placed in a homogeneous (hot dip) furnace, after heating, heat preservation, cooling process, so that the tempered glass in the nickel sulfide (NiS) phase change. As the volume of nickel sulfide increases, the glass is broken to achieve the purpose of early detonation, thereby greatly reducing the self-explosion rate of tempered glass.
